11 Free Stories from Rosary Book

Thank you to all who ordered a book or books! So far I have sold 94!!!!

Thank you! Thank you! I told my sister, Barb if I sold a hundred I would take her and the family out to dinner. Looks like I may make it. The sale lasts till December 12th and I have lots of books left. . .   (hint, hint)   Christmas Book Sale

Book Sales Outside Of USA: One thing I forgot to clarify with the book sale – was that the shipping price of $2.50 is only for the USA. Obviously it costs a lot more to send it out of the country. If you do want a book I am glad to give you the sale price but the postage price will have to be whatever it costs to mail them.

Free Mini Rosary Book: If you have not read the Rosary book – and would like a sample of some of the stories (they really are amazing!) here is a free download of 11 stories from the book. Click Here

Feel free to share it far and wide! If you send out Christmas e-mails or online cards – you could include the link as a mini Christmas present to your family and friends. And of course that would help me in spreading the word.

Meanwhile on the Home Front: The most amazing thing happened this afternoon. Not over the top wonderful to anyone else I suppose – but it was very wonderful to me. I took Pudge to the park and lovely, little dog that he is, he found something sticky and smelly and yucky to roll in. What fun! I did not lose my cool – I just told him, “Okay, buster, prepare your soul for a bath the minute we get home.”

So, got home, grabbed a treat and took him into the bathroom and closed the door. Gave him the treat and showed him the tub. He looked at it and just jumped in!

I was so amazed. Obviously he had prepared his soul!

Half of the bath battle has been trying to lift him up into the tub – guess he didn’t like being picked up and put in and would rather do it himself. Certainly fine with me!

Oh! Forgot to tell you that Buddy was just fine when I got home from our Thanksgiving Trip. Didn’t seem upset – but did want to go outside and check up on all his regular outside “hot” spots.

Well, thinking about going to bed. Last night I was so tired I went to bed at 7:30. Then of course, I woke up at 1:30 ready to start a new day. Tried to convince brain and body that more sleep would be a good thing but they weren’t buying it. So, got up and made a stab at cleaning off the dining room table, washed the dishes and eventually around 4:00 managed to be tired enough to go back to bed. Had to get up at six to get ready for work but I did fine.

Guess I’m starting to ramble – so best quit. I went over to my sister’s house for dinner – Bobby was cooking and it was excellent. He gave me three chocolate brownie cookies to take home. Right now, I’m trying NOT to eat them.

Hope you have a wonderful day!

A Little bit of Rosary goes a Long Way

Today was an over the top day. God really seems to be helping me out with pushing the recovery book forward.

I made the decision that I was going to pray a rosary a day for its success and completion and I am almost blown away by how much the Blessed Mother is stepping in and moving things along. For one thing I may have found a publishing partner to work with in getting the book put together and marketed. I’m not positive yet – but there is some definite interest and that is over the top encouraging. Will let you know if it comes to pass.

The second is that I am starting to get some good leads for recovery places to include in the book. That is also very encouraging. Yes! I need many, many more of course but things are moving forward.

I actually haven’t started to make many calls to retreat houses and counseling places yet because the last four or five days its been a push to try to learn Access a database program. I expect to be working with a lot of data for this book so I made the buying decision to get that program. I have used an old version in the past but it’s quite a leap to get up to par with this latest version. So that has been an over my head feeling but I’m starting to break through with that as well. I probably should be watching a few more tutorials tonight but I’m planning on going to bed after this.  Anyone out there with Access expertise? Would love to have someone I could ask a few questions of and get a few pointers on setting up a new database for this book.

I changed the title of the book from “Catholic Addiction Recovery” to “Addiction Recovery for Catholics” after a very helpful friend made the comment that it sounded like the book could be for folks who are addicted to being Catholic!!! Now that would have led to all sorts of snide comments I am sure. So thanks again Arlene for your help!

Believe me I will take all the helpful hints, advice, suggestions anyone has to make this book be the best it can be. I get too close to my projects sometimes and can’t see the BLOOPERS that are staring me in the face.

I did buy a new domain name for the book – AddictionRecoveryForCatholics.com. It’s a long name but its good to have a web site that matches the title of the book. I was going to work on designing that tonight but guess that will be tomorrow’s project. At least a start – I am putting in more hours at the Independent Living place this week so my time is a bit stretched.

Okay well this is it for the night.

If anyone wants to know how powerful the rosary is – just ask me. I get bowled over every time I commit to praying it again. (Yes, I do have my slip-ups!)

P.S.S. Has anyone read any books by C. J. Box? He is the most, amazing, wonderful, fantastic, page-turning mystery writer there is. I pick up one of his books and it takes a sledge-hammer to get me to put it down before I finish it.

I Thought I could, I Thought I could . . .

I think I have actually almost finished Cathy’s website. I put a couple more hours on it tonight and it seems like it is almost ready to roll. Just waiting for her final “approval” before I share it with you.  Very exciting.

I have been kind of wondering if Buddy was upset about being stuffed into a cat carrier (was really a small dog carrier I borrowed from my nephew) to go to the vet. I was afraid he might have been so traumatized that he would never let me put him in it again. Lo and behold, yesterday when I came home from work I could not find him. I looked everywhere. Finally I looked in the carrier that I had left on the floor.

Yup! There he was. So much for trauma.

Today when I went into work I noticed that there were four people sitting in the director’s office. Up to something no doubt. I didn’t think much about it. Then as I started punching in on the time clock, one of the group calls out from the room. “>, Patricia . . . ”

Hmmmm? Is this good or is this bad?

They are smiling – so I figure it must be okay. Turns out that one of the folks who does the night shift one night a week is leaving and the position is open. They are offering it to me. Hmmmmm.

I really like working in the dining room but this will be only one night a week and it will be a steady, full eight-hour shift – so – I am seriously considering it. The downfall is that it is on the one and only night that I can get to an Al-anon meeting . So – I am going to pray some on it – but will probably take it.

Well, tomorrow is the day for the book shipment to arrive. 9:00 in the morning. They will bring them in as far as the front door. After that I am on my own. Well, not totally, Bobby my nephew is coming over later in the day while I am at work to move a ton of em for me. Bless his heart.

I will have to take some pictures of how it all looks. Should be interesting.
