So, I was just sitting here at my computer and looked up and there Buddy and Snow Homey were having a little conversation. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a picture when they were deep in discussion, this one just shows Buddy realizing he has been caught in the act. He quickly goes into “wash” mode, denying totally that he has a crush on Snow Homey. Snow Homey for his part thinks Buddy should continue the conversation it was just getting interesting.
We’ve been having a few days of “cold” weather. Almost down to freezing! Of course after spending most of my life where there is no such thing as “almost freezing” in the month of December I should be able to handle this bit of cold but I’m rapidly turning into a Winter Wimp! Even Buddy does not stay out very long. He is so funny. When Pudge has to go outside for a quick “break” – Buddy has to go out with him but then they both come running in together like they are being chased by Abominable Snowmen. Quick, open the door! Let us in! You want us to freeze to death?
Okay, well that’s all for now. Mostly just had to share this quick photo of Buddy and Snow Homey.

I think it is so cute, and adorable, and funny about Buddy and Snow Homey. A new member of the family. Better than having Buddy tear Snow Homey apart! LOL I live in Florida and I can’t even imagine the weather being so cold. Been here for 24 years, but was born and raised in Albany, New York. I have luckily forgotten that weather. But I do remember driving to work in blustery weather. I remember having to scrape the ice off the windshield in the mornings, and also driving for about 5 minutes before any heat decided to fill the car. Brrrrrr. Better you than me, Patricia!! But I wish you the best of luck in your undertakings now. I so enjoy your e-mails.
Sincerely,
Marianne O’Neill Ladybug0734@aol.com

Hi, Would you all pray for my son and us….My son had a mental breakdown in the beginning of Nov….He is not responding well to the medications and they are calling in a second opinion..It is very difficult to watch the son you love and raised (he’s 23) not be in his right mind….very delusional….and yet at the same time there is a part of himself that remains from the young man who I know and love….
I know God is with us, but some intersession from outside of the family would help….this is an especially difficult time of the year to not have him with us..His name is Phil..Thanks..Rebeccah
Rebeccah.. have put him on our online prayer list…
Hi Rebeccah,
I will keep your son in my prayers—-Remember Prayer and a Mother’s tears are extremely powerful with God. There are a lot of medications and advancements in this type of disorder in the last 10 years–I pray that you receive a brilliant Doctor and he find the right Medicine to help your son quickly. Have faith and do not loose heart, Trust in the Lord with all your Heart He will not fail you. May the Blessed Virgin Mary keep you under her Blue Mantle. Love and Prayers sent you way…
I will add him and your family to the Prayer Wheel, prayers are with all of you. Hopefully with proper diagnoisis and correct meds all will be well and he will be himself in no time.
Prayers are with you
Rebeccah: I have added Phil to my prayer list. May God watch over and bless him.
Hi Rebeccah,
Yes, for sure I will pray for your son, Phil. i can only imagine a glimpse of how hard this would be – and especially during the holy season when you wonder if God is on the job or not. Part of us knows He is but part of us – gets mad, angry, discouraged, depressed, the whole gamut. Natural feelings that our faith feelings surely zap! but we have to be on guard because they sneak in when we least expect.
Keep us posted how your son is doing and how you are doing. If you have a chance to find a support group for this – i think you would find it helpful. It’s important that you don’t blame yourself and that you say as well and as faith-filled positive as you can during this time.
I think you are so good and brave to share your struggle with us so we can be part of your online support team! This is a hard cross.
Hi Everyone, Thankyou soooooooo much for the words of encouragement you have given to me and for the prayer….it really means a lot!! I don’t have a lot of friends, in fact, I have only one….so I do not have much support…so, this is very helpful to me….I will keep you posted on his recovery….
Rebeccah ,You know you have remained in my prayers.Am available if you need anything. Love,Suzanne
Patricia, thanks so much for sharing the adorable picture of Snow Homey and Buddy. Buddy is so pretty and certainly being a typical cat of acting so innocent. LOL I agree with you and them, I do not like the cold weather but live in Delaware and right now it is cold. Oh well, we have been very lucky this year so far as we have not had extreme weather in my area. Have a wonderful Sunday.
God Bless,
Mary B.
LOL that is too funny.. it was in the 20s again here in NE Tennessee last night.. bbbrrrrr.. our mountains still have snow on the highest peaks from earlier this week….bet your “babies” would not like going outside here…
thank you for all the joy you bring to us.. and have a very Merry Christmas!!!!!!!
Thank you Patricia for posting–the adorable news of Buddy and his new Sweetie–was ice cold in Cleveland last night. You are probably very busy with all of your activities but it was grand to hear from you and your emails are so lovely. I have to bring the puppy’s coat out it is so cold here. All I have to say to her is “where is your coat?”–and she runs to the closet bedroom and looks at the top shelf where I keep it –because she knows she is going for a walk. Too funny! Stay warm and have a nice cozy Sunday!
Yes, turned cold here too…in Canada…just a little snow on the grass (that is fine with me). The sun is shining so that helps. Loved the picture you shared with us. I think I have decorated my house as much as I am going to this year…and that is quite a bit. Today, the 4th Sunday of Advent…the color is pink…where is the time going. Patricia, wishing you a happy Advent Season…I am off to Mass…keep the good news coming. I do look forward to your sharing.,
My Mother’s cat Moochee looks just like Buddy! What a beautiful cat you have! And God Bless You!!
No one can get too depressed with pets in the house. I love the interplay between my dog and cat. They lie in the sun together, and she (the cat) will occasionally lick his (the dog’s) face. He tries to act as though he just tolerates her, but I notice he never tries to rebuff her. I got her for him to have a companion, and it’s definitely working. Incidentally, I got her for him after you got Buddy, and that seemed to work out. Thanks for the suggestion.
Hi,
Guess I’ll try my luck at posting a comment. My 2yr. old cat Koshka Boots looks exactly like buddy. I never ever was a cat person until this very very small kitten climbed up our rock hill to the house we were building on a sunny crisp November day,and meowed such a loud and pitiful cry over and over until I fed him. He stayed at the construction site until the house had a roof, bathroom and we moved in in January. He surely adopted us and is very affectionate. I have turned into a cat person. Besides, how easy is it to train a cat to a litter box! ? Months easier than it is to housetrain a dog.
Today it has warmed up from the 20′s to 30′s in Wisconsin. It is sunny and I will stay inside and attempt to get a multitude of things accomplished before I have to go back to work teaching 7 and 8 year olds tomorrow. My list is, decorate the entire Christamas tree, write a letter to put into my cards, roast/bake the candied pecans for gifts, find a gift for my Granddaughter on the internet because the stores have all sold out on the Fisher Price $28 cameras, also, throw in some laundry and set up my Dickens village. Whew. Have a great Day Patricia. Oh, and what I am reading IS………….
HIdden in Plain View by J. Tobin about the secret story of quilts and the Underground Railroad AND
The Turquoise Ledge – a memoir – by Leslie Marmon Silko, of Native American descent, raised in the Laguna Pueblo traditions by her grandparents.
Good luck on your endeavors this week.
Karol
I apologize for replying instead of posting a comment 8-((. If you didn’t get my reply, here it is:
Snow Homey is sooooo cute no wonder Buddy has a crush on it!! If he were my snowman I’d have a crush too LOL. I’m here in Southern California and have been for over 50 years. Our weather has been in the mid to upper 60′s during the day and I’m always cold. It gets down to the 40′s at night and it’s hard to get to sleep while I’m that cold. I’m using my furnace but turn it way down overnight. For someone who was born in Pennsylvania and lived many years in northern Illinois, I’m a true winter wimp! Have a great week Pat and stay warm.
Hi Patricia,
Buddy looks like he has a new friend alright.
I sat next to an elderly Polish lady at Mass this morning & I had not seen her for awhile.
I usually go on Sat. at 4:30 so we miss one another.
She asked me about situations & family members that I had asked her to pray for this past summer.
She recalled “each one by name” & asked how things were….WOW !!! When someone says they’ll pray for you I often wonder if they really will, this precious lady sure does !!!
She told me she said 17 rosaries yesterday !!!!!!!!!!
What a beautiful inspiration. She really made my day.
Rebeccah, Your family and Phil will be on my prayer list. It is so difficult for a parent to feel helpless in helping a child when there is not much you can do except loving him, praying for him and try to get him to the right Doctors.
Patricia, Isn’t it wonderful how pets can keep one amused and give you “down time” to enjoy them and let some burdens go.
Keep on evjoying the little things in life.

Love it! I think animals know more than we think they do!

Hi, Was in to see my son, Philip last night and he is doing much better…although not completely himself yet….he was moved into a room with another person, which I think helps…Please continue to pray for his recovery and that God will guide us in the next steps we need to take for him…..Rebeccah
Wishing you all a Happy New Year filled with God’s Blessings!!!
