Survived the Day

My cat Buddy on his new cat scratching rug

Buddy and his rug

Folks have been wondering about Buddy. He is turning into the sweetest, fun kitty. Sometimes he wants to sit on my lap while I type which makes it a bit difficult – but we sort of work it out. I let him sit for awhile and then he’s up and checking something else out. My desk looks out the window and he likes to sit on the corner and look out.

I bought him a scratching rug – to help save the furniture. This is what it looks like. Kind of curled like a wave. Underneath it hangs a little catnip toy. He loves it.  I wasn’t sure if he would or not – but it turned out to be a winner.

Made it through my speech. Went better than I thought it would. Must of been the rosaries and putting it in God’s hands. It was very funny. There is a quote about giving speeches that I hear in Toastmasters often but it’s probably common to all speech folks. It goes like this.

There is the speech you practice. The speech you give. And the speech you wish you had given.

Truthfully I was just so glad the speech came off as well as it did. I was determined last night and earlier in the day that I was going to drop Toastmasters till January but since I survived with all my limbs still intact and wasn’t hit with any tomatoes – I am going to stick it out a bit more. I won’t volunteer to do any speeches though for a month or so and then it shouldn’t be so bad.

I have decided to drop the Novel in thirty days though. That will be something for next year! The more I read about how to write a novel the more I knew I hadn’t a clue so put it on hold.

I am still sending out the daily puzzle. That is a fun thing. I try to make a puzzle that fits the saint of the day or event. On days that nothing seems to really stand out I make an angel card or a scripture card.
